Andhra Horror: Father Kills Three Children, Sets Them on Fire, Dies by Suicide Over Fight with Wife

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a heart-wrenching and disturbing incident, a 36-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh allegedly murdered his three children. Following the murder he later died by suicide in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana. The incident reportedly followed a domestic dispute with his wife.

The man, identified as Gutha Venkateswarlu, a fertiliser shop owner from Peddaboyapally village in Prakasam district. He left home on August 30 with his children, Mokshita (8), Raghuvarshi (6), and Siva Dharma (4), after a heated argument with his wife, Deepika. Following the quarrel, he switched off his phone and rode off on his motorcycle with the children.

2 Younger Children Murdered First

According to the Veldanda police, Venkateswarlu and the children spent the night of August 30 at Brahmagiri. The next morning, at around 6 am, they resumed travel. CCTV footage later captured them at Hajipur Chowrasta around 7:30 am and at Veltoor gate by 8:20 am, by then, only Mokshita was seen with him.

Investigators believe that the two younger children were murdered and their bodies burned at Surya Thanda in Uppunuthala mandal. After allegedly committing the first two murders, Venkateswarlu continued his journey with his eldest daughter. They were last seen together at the Srisailam X Roads checkpoint.

Partially burnt body of Elder Child found

Tragically, Mokshita too was later killed, and her partially burnt body was found in Thandra village of Kalwakurthy mandal. After killing all three children, Venkateswarlu consumed pesticide and ended his life in Peddapur village under Veldanda police station limits.

Locals discovered his body on September 1 and alerted authorities. Upon identification, police were informed by the family that a missing person report had already been filed in Andhra Pradesh.

CCTV footage confirms Murder

CCTV footage and forensic investigations have played a crucial role in reconstructing the sequence of events. The police recovered the decomposed and partially charred remains of the children from multiple locations, confirming the heinous act.

Veldanda SI S Kurumurthy stated that preliminary findings suggest domestic issues were at the root of the crime. An official case has been registered, and autopsies are being conducted to establish the exact causes of death. “We suspect that after killing them, he poured petrol and burnt their bodies,” said Veldanda SI.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, including psychological profiling and forensic analysis, to better understand the motive and sequence of events leading up to the tragic incident.
