The CSR Journal Magazine

In Agartala, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reaffirmed the importance of both Hindi and regional languages, asserting that they coexist harmoniously as “two sisters of the same mother.” Shah delivered these remarks during the Joint Regional Official Language Conference, known as Rajbhasha Sammelan, which focused on the Eastern, North-Eastern, and Northern Regions. He stated that the promotion of Hindi ultimately enhances all languages and contributes to unity within India’s diverse linguistic spectrum. The Minister emphasized that the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi play a vital role in encouraging the appreciation and learning of India’s rich linguistic heritage.

Strengthening Linguistic Unity

Shah articulated that the relationship between Hindi and local languages is one of mutual support. He proclaimed, “When Hindi is promoted, all languages become stronger.” This statement reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to fostering an environment where multiple languages can thrive simultaneously. Shah expressed confidence that under Modi’s leadership, the country is unified in its determination to embrace and promote local languages while also recognizing the importance of Hindi.

Inauguration of the Rajbhasha Conference

The Rajbhasha Sammelan was officially inaugurated by Shah at the Indoor hall of the International Fair Complex in Hapania. The conference gathered officials from various regions to discuss effective strategies for implementing official language policies while also promoting regional languages. Such gatherings highlight India’s unique linguistic plurality and the need for a cohesive approach to language policy that respects and nurtures this diversity.

Development Achievements in Assam

Earlier in the day, Amit Shah praised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s developmental achievements in Assam. He stated that the progress made by the BJP in a decade surpasses what the Congress party had been unable to achieve over the past fifty years. Speaking at a public gathering in Silchar, Shah highlighted significant infrastructure developments, noting that in the last five years, Assam has seen the construction of 14 kilometers of road daily, alongside the completion of many bridges and the inauguration of four major new bridges. His comments underlined the BJP’s focus on enhancing the state’s infrastructure and promoting economic growth.

Focus of the Rajbhasha Sammelan

The Rajbhasha Sammelan served as a platform for officials from the Eastern, North-Eastern, and Northern regions to come together and focus on strategies for implementing government language policies. The importance of this conference lies in fostering collaboration among various linguistic communities in India, recognizing and promoting the richness of regional languages while reinforcing the role of Hindi as a unifying language in the country’s diverse cultural landscape. This approach not only strengthens the ties among different language speakers but also enriches the national identity.
