After Rajpal Yadav, Ameesha Patel Faces Non-Bailable Warrant in ₹4.5 Lakh Cheque Bounce Case

The CSR Journal Magazine

Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has issued a statement following the issuance of a non-bailable warrant against her by a Moradabad court in relation to a dispute from 2017. In her remarks, Patel characterized the situation as an older issue that has already been resolved. She asserted her intention to pursue legal measures against what she calls false allegations.

The actor clarified, “Media articles have referenced ongoing issues in Moradabad involving an individual named Pawan Verma. I would like to clarify that this dispute originated 15 years ago when Mr. Verma had signed a settlement agreement and received the full payment as agreed. However, it appears he has initiated proceedings based on untrue claims. My legal team will be taking action for cheating against this individual to reveal his dishonesty while I choose to concentrate on my career and disregard those attempting to seek attention through false narratives.”

Court Issues Non-Bailable Warrant

The warrant was issued by the Moradabad ACJM-5 court on a Monday, following Patel’s failure to appear for a scheduled hearing. She is now ordered to present herself before the court on March 27. The legal issues trace back nearly a decade, stemming from a 2017 complaint made by event manager Pawan Verma.

Verma alleged that Ameesha Patel had accepted Rs 11 lakh to take part in a wedding event in Moradabad but failed to attend despite receiving the payment. The complaint indicates that while Patel traveled from Mumbai to Delhi, she subsequently demanded an additional Rs 2 lakh in cash upon her arrival. When the event organizers did not comply with this extra request, Patel reportedly returned to Mumbai and did not participate in the occasion.

Legal Proceedings Against Ameesha Patel

In response to the incident, Verma filed a case against Patel and her team in the Moradabad court. The legal proceedings are currently ongoing under sections 120-B, 406, 504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. Approximately two years prior, Patel had appeared in court and secured bail. However, it is alleged that she subsequently did not follow the conditions of her bail, leading to the issuance of the non-bailable warrant once again. Advocate Pankaj Sharma, who represents the complainant, confirmed that the court has mandated Ameesha Patel to appear on March 27.
