Abhijeet Dipke Urges Supporters to Prioritise Family Amid Activist Detentions

The CSR Journal Magazine

Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has encouraged his volunteers to dedicate time to their families during the forthcoming festivals. This appeal comes in light of the recent detentions of several activists linked to the movement. In a video shared on X, Dipke expressed gratitude towards supporters for their solidarity and reiterated the movement’s commitment to peace, love, and compassion.

His remarks followed the decision by a Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) Court to extend the judicial custody of CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka until October 21. Dipke referred to these leaders as his brothers and acknowledged the challenges faced by the movement in recent days.

Reflecting on the situation, Dipke reminded volunteers that the recent events had not only impacted the activists but also their families, who are often left to cope with the consequences of their loved ones’ involvement in the struggle. He urged them to be present for their families, especially during these trying times.

Emphasis on Non-Violence and Compassion

In his message, Dipke highlighted the importance of maintaining the movement’s dedication to non-violence. He cautioned that the hardships faced by the activists should not lead them towards hatred or aggression. “We are fighting against hatred, but we must ensure that we do not allow that hatred to infiltrate our own hearts,” he stated. Dipke alleged that there are attempts to provoke activists into abandoning their principles of peace and compassion.

He reiterated the mantra, “We don’t have to become what we hate,” emphasising the need for a steadfast commitment to non-violent resistance. He further articulated that emotions such as love, kindness, and compassion should be viewed as strengths rather than weaknesses. “Our emotions are not our weakness. They are our strength,” he asserted, reinforcing the movement’s core values amidst adversity.

Commitment to Peaceful Resistance

Invoking the legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and BR Ambedkar, Dipke articulated the principles that should guide the movement. He expressed confidence that Sourav Das and Ashutosh would emerge from detention embodying the spirit of peaceful resistance. “When they come out, they will do so with the slogan of Inquilab Zindabad,” he declared.

Dipke contrasted the response of CJP activists to their detentions with recent events in France, highlighting the dignity with which Sourav and Ashutosh faced their situation. He noted that despite knowing they were imprisoned unjustly, they chose to uphold peace. He also reminded supporters to keep Das and Ashutosh in their thoughts during the upcoming festivals.

The two leaders will be unable to celebrate with their families while in custody. Concluding his address, Dipke expressed gratitude to volunteers for their unwavering support and acknowledged the struggles of many who have not received public recognition for their efforts.
