O’Brien called the police response inadequate and emphasised that the AITC would not be intimidated by such acts of violence.

Alongside O’Brien, Sagarika Ghose, another AITC MP, also condemned the violence and reiterated the claim that the BJP is ruling through fear and intimidation. She stressed that the management of the SIR process by the BJP has led to a situation where law enforcement either remains inactive or participates in the alleged attacks.
