The Punjab government has announced the organisation of four Shobha Yatras to commemorate the 650th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. This decision was confirmed by Punjab Minister Harpal Singh Cheema during a press briefing held on September 23, 2026, in Chandigarh. He stated that the celebrations would span an entire year and involve religious processions across various locations in the state.

The first of these Shobha Yatras is expected to commence in Varanasi and conclude at Khuralgarh Sahib in Punjab. This procession is set to take place from November 30 to December 3, 2026, marking the beginning of the religious observances associated with this significant anniversary.

Ravidas Jayanti, which commemorates the birth of Guru Ravidas Ji, falls on Magh Purnima, a full-moon day in the Hindu calendar. The Shobha Yatras will be key events during the year-long celebrations and are expected to draw significant participation from the community.
