US Woman Throws Piping Hot Coffee at McDonald’s Manager in Michigan, Video Viral

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a startling incident at a McDonald’s branch in Saginaw, Michigan, a 48-year-old woman facing a long delay with her online order erupted into violence. She confronted the store manager, accused her of lying about a refund and, as the manager turned away, removed the lid of her large hot-coffee cup and flung the scalding liquid across the counter. .

The manager suffered minor burns. The footage was released by the Buena Vista Township Police Department and quickly went viral, helping authorities identify the suspect within hours. “F***k you, b***h! Catch that hot coffee!”* The woman can be heard shouting as the steaming liquid splashes over the stunned employee.

“We learned who she was pretty quickly,” he told the Daily Mail. “Before you know it, people were just reaching out to me.”

Customer Claims 60-Minute Wait

According to police reports, the customer ordered food via the McDonald’s app but did not provide full payment or name details when placing the order. After waiting more than an hour, she returned to the counter demanding a refund, or at least an apology.

The manager responded that the only charge made was for the coffee and that the refund could take up to 48 hours. Instead of being pacified, the customer escalated matters, calling the manager a liar and launching the hot drink as she walked away.

“You’re a liar! Why are you lying?” the woman yells, as stunned onlookers watch. The manager, remaining calm despite the abuse, tries to explain that the refund is being processed. “You’ve got your coffee,” the manager says patiently. “That’s all you were charged for. Your refund will take up to 48 hours.”

Police Seek Felony Assault Charges

Detective Russ Pahssen of the Buena Vista Township Police said the woman was identified swiftly thanks to social-media circulation of the video. A warrant has been issued for possible charges of felonious assault, though the offence could be reduced to a misdemeanor depending on the victim’s injury.

Officers emphasized that throwing a hot beverage at someone is more than just rude, it’s criminal. Locals expressed outrage at what they called an entirely avoidable outburst over a fast-food order.
