Woman Gang-Raped in Moving Van, Thrown Out on Faridabad Road

The CSR Journal Magazine

A horrifying incident shook Faridabad on Tuesday when a woman in her mid-to-late 20s was allegedly gang-raped inside a moving van and later thrown onto the road, police said. The woman, a married mother of three, had been trying to return home late Monday night.

Woman Held, Assaulted in Van

According to authorities, the woman was waiting at Metro Chowk when a van stopped, and two men offered her a lift home. Instead of taking her to her destination, the accused diverted the vehicle towards the Gurgaon-Faridabad Road. Police said she was held inside the van for nearly two-and-a-half to three hours and repeatedly assaulted despite her protests.

Around 3 am, the woman was allegedly pushed out of the van near Raja Chowk in SGM Nagar, close to Mula Hotel. She sustained serious facial and head injuries and was bleeding heavily. Despite her condition, she contacted her sister, who reached the scene and admitted her to a hospital. Doctors applied 10 to 12 stitches and said her condition is stable, though she remains in shock.

In her complaint, the victim’s sister stated that the woman had called her earlier that evening, saying she had an argument with her mother and was visiting a friend. She had mentioned she would return home in a few hours. The woman has been staying with her parents due to a domestic dispute.

Case Registered

Police registered a case at Kotwali police station and formed a crime branch team. Both accused, residents of Faridabad originally from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, were arrested, and the van was recovered.

Sub-Inspector Yashpal Singh, Public Relations Officer of Faridabad Police, said, “Yesterday, on December 30, a rape case was reported at Kotwali Police Station. The police took swift action and registered a case under the relevant sections.”
“The Crime Branch team acted promptly, arrested both the accused, and recovered the vehicle. Further questioning of the suspects is underway,” he added.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and continuing their investigation to check if anyone else was involved.
