The saffron camp has made a target to win the upcoming West Bengal Assembly Elections so the party is leaving no stone unturned. In his first meeting after becoming the president, the new All India President of BJP, Nitin Nabin gave a message to focus on Bengal. This time he has decided to enter the battlefield himself. Nabin will be visiting West Bengal on a two-day trip on January 27 and 28.
According to party sources, during this visit, he will hold several organisational meetings as well as a big public meeting in Burdwan. The main purpose of this visit is to further strengthen the state BJP organisation ahead of the West Bengal Assembly Elections. Sources indicate that the meeting was tightly focused on governance failures in the state and on building a constituency wise campaign that directly targets the Trinamool Congress record of the last fifteen years.
According to sources, Nitin Nabin will hold separate meetings with the state, district and mandal level leaders. In these meetings, the BJP President will give directions on election strategy, increasing worker activity and strengthening the organization at the booth level. Along with this, emphasis will be placed on conveying the political message of the central leadership to the grassroots level workers. Nitin will launch a sharp attack against the state government from the public meeting in Burdwan and highlight the future political direction and development agenda of the BJP. The party hopes that this visit will play an important role in increasing the BJP’s organizational strength and public support in the state.
In fact, Nitin has been keeping a bird’s eye view of Bengal ever since he became the party’s working president. In the first meeting, he told the party workers that his primary responsibility would be to strengthen the party organisation. He also said publicly, “The organisation is so strong from bottom to top that we will win in Bengal too.” Hence Nabin is coming to Bengal to personally check the state of that organisation.
Nabin is not alone, the BJP is also trying to create a mood for the elections in Bengal by holding a series of meetings with central leaders. According to party sources, the state leadership has requested the Prime Minister to hold more than two dozen public meetings in the state. As per the plan, Narendra Modi will address ten public meetings before the announcement of the votes and at least ten more after the announcement of the votes.
He has already held six public meetings. It is almost certain that the remaining four public meetings will also be held before the announcement of the election schedule. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also planning to visit the state after the Union Budget is presented on February 1. The saffron camp has adopted a strategy to make the organisation more active through frequent visits by top leadership before the elections.
