A man residing in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, has been reported missing in Mauritius for six days, compelling his family to seek urgent assistance from government authorities. Dharmendra Bisht, who is employed as a manager at a Thai restaurant in Mauritius, has allegedly not been in contact since the evening of September 27. His relatives have expressed concern and requested that both the Centre and the state government engage with Mauritius authorities to facilitate the search efforts.

Family’s Alarming Claims Regarding Disappearance

According to family members, Dharmendra left for a cricket match on the morning of September 27. Reports suggest that four young men were seen with him during this time, and his relatives allege that he was taken by these individuals. Relatives identified the four men as Ayush Bisht, Gaurav Mehta, Bhupendra Rana, and Rahul Rana. Concerns have arisen as Dharmendra has been unaccounted for since the incident, and family members have expressed that they found his mobile phone and clothing in the possession of Ayush Bisht.

The family was first made aware of Dharmendra’s disappearance on September 28, when they were told he had gone on leave. However, family members have contested this narrative, stating that Dharmendra had not informed them about any planned leave, leading to further confusion and distress regarding his situation.

Relatives have raised questions pertaining to the involvement of the four young men, especially given the lack of communication from Dharmendra and the absence of clear information on the events following his departure with them. They have called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances of his disappearance and any potential links to the individuals they named.

Concerns Over Restaurant Management’s Response

Dharmendra is employed at the Thai Food Gang restaurant, run by Sitar Pure Veg Company Limited in Mauritius. His family has voiced concerns regarding the management’s lack of transparency since his disappearance. Relatives have stated that they have yet to receive detailed information about any actions taken by local authorities or whether a formal complaint has been registered concerning Dharmendra’s case.

Additionally, the family suspects that the restaurant management may be shielding the four individuals named in their concerns. These claims have not been independently verified, yet they contribute to the family’s growing worry regarding the handling of the situation.

Shivani Rautela, Dharmendra’s sister, has reached out to both the Uttarakhand government and central authorities, seeking assistance in locating her brother. She has specifically appealed to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta for intervention. Reports indicate that Tamta’s office is treating the matter with urgency and has contacted the Indian Embassy to discuss the involvement of the Mauritian government.

Family Seeks Direct Intervention from Authorities

Relatives are advocating for the Ministry of External Affairs to coordinate directly with Mauritian officials and local law enforcement to expedite the search for Dharmendra. They have also requested an investigation into a video that has reportedly circulated online and may be connected to the incident.

Hema Rautela has highlighted that significant time has elapsed since her brother was last seen, yet the family remains without reliable information regarding his whereabouts. She has demanded an impartial investigation and urged authorities to act swiftly in locating Dharmendra. The family has notified local law enforcement about their concerns, but the ongoing investigation into Dharmendra’s disappearance and the potential involvement of the mentioned individuals remains pending official scrutiny.
