Environmental Concerns Addressed in Development Projects

In related developments, scientists from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) recently presented findings to Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan about maintaining ecological balance amid ongoing construction activities associated with the Badrinath Corridor Development Project in Dehradun. Chief Secretary Bardhan emphasized the importance of scientific assessments, particularly in a mountainous state like Uttarakhand, where development must align with ecological preservation. He assured that the results from these studies would be verified and considered whenever necessary.

Chief Minister Engages in Developmental Initiatives

Earlier in February, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Command, visited Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for a courtesy meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence. During the ceremony, additional plans were revealed for upgrading the Primary Health Centre in Pilkhi to a Community Health Centre. The Chief Minister recognized Krishna Gairola and his family for their contribution in donating land for the hospital’s expansion. He reiterated the commitment of the government to ensure timely completion of all projects and emphasized the prioritization of essential facilities such as healthcare, roads, and educational services in the hill regions. Chief Minister Dhami also conveyed that with determination, existing resource constraints could be addressed effectively.

In a separate engagement, Chief Minister Dhami paid a courtesy visit to Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) at Lok Bhavan, where they discussed various developmental strategies and contemporary issues facing the state.
