A very shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj area. A five month pregnant woman was beaten to death by her husband over an argument.

Reports suggests, that the five-month pregnant woman, Brajbala (25), died on Thursday. This comes after she was beaten by her husband, Ramu. This led to her fall from the roof of their home in Nagda Dhak village, Kasganj district. The officials have confirmed Ramu’s arrest, and an investigation is underway.

Fatal Argument Over ‘Excess Salt’

According to reports the incident began on Wednesday evening as a minor disagreement over excess salt in food Brajbala cooked. However, the dispute escalated violently, with Ramu allegedly assaulting 5 months pregnant Brajbala. This led her to fall from the roof of their residence. Brajbala sustained severe injuries.

The victim’s brother also alleged frequent altercations between the couple. He said it stemmed from Ramu’s alleged illicit affair with his sister-in-law, which Brajbala opposed.

Victim Succumbs to injuries

Following the fall, family members rushed Brajbala to the district hospital. However, due to her critical condition, she was referred to Aligarh Medical College. Brajbala tragically succumbed to her injuries during treatment on Thursday.

The accused, Ramu allegedly tried to flee the scene after the news of Brajbala’s death came out. However, the villagers apprehended him from a house outside the village the same night. Ramu was then handed over to the police.

Police case registered against Husband

Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Bharti stated that “A case has been registered against Ramu, and investigations are underway.” Meanwhile, Brajbala’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

The recent case comes days after a woman allegedly died by suicide two months after her marriage. This comes following severe physical and mental torture by her husband and in-laws over dowry.
