Ramnagar Ayodhya is all set to dazzle the world with its faith, culture, and heritage as the ninth edition of Deepotsav 2025 prepares to light up the city like never before. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, nearly 28 lakh lamps will illuminate 56 ghats along the Saryu River, setting a new world record.
For the first time, Laxman Kila Ghat will join the festivities, making the celebration even grander. More than a religious festival, this Deepotsav highlights India’s timeless culture, spirituality, and global unity, while also reinforcing Ayodhya’s status as a key hub for religious tourism.
1.5 lakh lamps to be lighten up
Laxman Kila Ghat will be illuminated with over 1.25 lakh lamps. Approximately 1.5 lakh lamps will light up Ram Ki Paidi and Chaudhary Charan Singh Ghats, while Bhajan Sandhya Ghat will sparkle with 1.5 lakh lamps, casting a divine glow along the Saryu riverbanks. The centrepiece of the celebration, Ram Ki Paidi, will dazzle with 15–16 lakh lamps, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will light the lamps, as the air reverberates with chants of “Jai Shri Ram,” filling the city with devotional fervour.
In previous years, Ayodhya’s Deepotsav has earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. This year, organizers aim to break that record by illuminating 28 lakh lamps. To ensure its success, teams from the government, administration, and local volunteer organizations are working tirelessly. Extensive preparations are underway for lamp decorations, security, cultural performances, and the hospitality of visitors.
