The CSR Journal Magazine

Uplakshya Goyal, who secured the All India Rank of three in the NEET UG 2026 examination, had one clear objective for the past two years: to become a doctor. The student from Jaipur achieved an impressive score of 711 out of 720 in the highly competitive medical entrance exam, although he admitted that he did not anticipate such a high rank. He stated, “I had the expectation of getting selected, but I absolutely did not expect the third rank.”

His daily life revolved around a rigorous study schedule that frequently required between ten and twelve hours of focused preparation. Uplakshya mentioned that while some days he studied longer hours than others, his commitment to achieving his goal remained unwavering. “The main difficulty was dedicating myself entirely to my studies. I had to give it all my time and couldn’t attend any family functions,” he explained.

Throughout this challenging journey, Uplakshya abstained from all social events and rarely ventured outside his home. He emphasised that it was essential for him to devote as much time as possible to his studies, revealing, “It was a constant struggle of studying, practising, and repeating.” This intense focus on preparation was crucial for his success in the examination.

Challenges During the Preparation Phase

The NEET UG 2026 experience for Uplakshya also included significant challenges, notably the cancellation of the initial exam due to a paper leak controversy. He expressed that the uncertainty surrounding the situation was particularly distressing. “There was definitely some disappointment. I had this underlying fear about whether I would get a good result later or what the outcome would be, everything was so uncertain,” he reminisced.

Despite the disappointment caused by the cancellation, Uplakshya managed to find a silver lining in the experience. He stated, “It was disheartening that the exam we worked so hard for got canceled. However, deep down, I was also a little glad because it gave me a second chance to correct the mistakes I had made the first time.”

This ability to navigate setbacks has been fundamental to his academic journey, allowing him to re-evaluate his strategies and improve his preparation for the rescheduled examination.

Support from Family and Future Aspirations

The emotional impact of Uplakshya’s success was profoundly felt by his parents. His mother, Anuradha Goyal, described her overwhelming pride, stating, “He gave up everything for this dream of his.” She acknowledged the considerable effort he put into his studies and his willingness to assist classmates even during his own preparation.

His father, Mukhesh Goyal, reflected on the family’s pride, noting that Uplakshya’s aspiration to pursue medicine has been evident since childhood. “Since childhood, his dream was to become a doctor, and he has fulfilled it. It is a very proud moment for our family,” he remarked. Mukhesh highlighted Uplakshya’s self-motivation and dedication, stating, “He never troubled us for anything and was completely self-motivated.”

Looking ahead, Uplakshya intends to pursue an MBBS degree and offers a piece of advice to future NEET aspirants: “Always listen to your teachers and follow whatever guidance they offer.” After dedicating nearly two years solely to this ambition, he is now on the path to achieving his lifelong dream of becoming a doctor.
