The CSR Journal Magazine

A troubling incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district. A headmaster of a government upper primary school in Sarasawa block has been booked. The Principal was booked on serious charges of showing obscene videos to female students on a government-issued tablet. Nandlal Singh teaches classes one through eight. He is also accused of inappropriate physical behavior and assaulting minor students who resisted his actions.

The shocking incident came to light when several girls reported the misconduct to their families. According to the students, Singh showed explicit content during school hours. The students alleged that these videos were so explicit that it disturbed and traumatized them mentally. The allegations further state that when the students refused or resisted, the headmaster allegedly touched them inappropriately. He resorted to physical violence to intimidate them.

Video of Incident Goes Viral

After hearing their children’s accounts, concerned parents rushed to the school to confront Singh. The confrontation escalated quickly, with parents demanding answers. A video capturing the tense exchange, where the headmaster is seen being physically assaulted by the angry crowd, was widely shared on social media platforms, drawing public attention and outrage.

The families later filed a formal complaint at the Manjhanpur police station, pressing for strict action against Singh. The incident sparked debates on social media about safety and the vulnerability of children in government schools.

Police Action and Suspension Confirmed

Responding swiftly, the Manjhanpur police registered a case against Nandlal Singh under relevant sections of the law. DSP (Sadar) Shivank Singh confirmed that the police took immediate steps after receiving the complaint and are currently investigating the matter thoroughly. Singh was arrested and is being interrogated by the authorities.

Meanwhile, the Basic Education Officer of the district, Kamlend Kushwaha, confirmed that after an inquiry validated the accusations, Singh was suspended from his duties. He has been transferred and “attached” to another upper primary school in Chak Majhiyari development block. Police have also seized the government-issued tablet believed to have been used in the alleged offenses.

Investigation ongoing

The Kaushambi Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Kumar, assured that legal proceedings would be carried out based on the findings of the ongoing investigation. The case highlights the urgent need for stricter monitoring of school authorities to ensure a safe environment for children.

In a similar incident a week ago, a 35-year-old female teacher of a school in Ulwe was arrested for allegedly video calling a Class 10 student and engaging in a sexual conversation. The incident came to light when the student’s mother found the video call recording on the boy’s phone, where the teacher was semi-nude, said a police officer.
