The CSR Journal Magazine

Dr Shriram Nene recently commemorated the 27th anniversary of his marriage to actress Madhuri Dixit by sharing rare photographs from their wedding. The cardiovascular surgeon took to social media to post images that capture significant moments from their special day, including their ring exchange and celebrations with family and friends. In his heartfelt message, he reminisced about their life together, acknowledging both the joyful and challenging times they have faced as a couple.

In his post, Shriram wrote, “27 years ago today, at the Beverly Hills courthouse, we said ‘I do’ and began the adventure of a lifetime. We had no idea where life would take us, but we knew we wanted to experience it together.” He expressed gratitude for the memories they have created, saying, “Two incredible sons, countless memories, a few challenges, lots of laughter, and a lifetime of love later, I’d choose you all over again.”

He concluded his message with a toast to their journey, stating, “Here’s to the beautiful journey we’ve shared and all the chapters still to come. Happy 27th anniversary, my love. To infinity and beyond, together.”

Beginning of Their Love Story

Madhuri Dixit and Shriram Nene exchanged vows in a private ceremony in California in 1999. The couple’s initial meeting was facilitated by Madhuri’s brother, and at that time, Shriram, who had grown up in the United States, was reportedly unaware of Madhuri’s fame. Following their wedding, the couple settled in Denver, Colorado, where Shriram was establishing his medical career.

During this period, Madhuri took a hiatus from her acting career to focus on family life. The couple welcomed their first son, Arin, in March 2003, followed by their second son, Ryan, in March 2005. This time was marked by her dedication to motherhood and the nurturing of their family.

Recently, filmmaker Farah Khan visited the couple at their home for a cooking vlog. During the visit, Shriram shared his experience of their wedding reception, describing it as feeling like a “prom king” since he was unfamiliar with most of the celebrity guests, except for Amitabh Bachchan. He remarked, “I didn’t know anyone. It was like Prom King, you just waved at everyone and later look at the wedding album because you don’t know anyone.”

Madhuri’s Return to Acting

Madhuri Dixit made her return to the film industry with the release of Aaja Nachle in 2007 after taking a break for family. A few years later, in 2011, the family relocated back to India, where Madhuri gradually resumed her acting career. Since then, she has appeared in various films, television shows, and streaming platforms, ensuring her continued presence in the entertainment industry.

Currently, she is hosting the Marathi version of Kaun Banega Crorepati, titled Kon Honar Crorepati. Her enduring popularity and versatility have kept her in the public eye, making her a beloved figure among audiences.

As Madhuri and Shriram celebrate their 27 years together, their journey reflects a blend of personal and professional milestones, showcasing their commitment to each other and their family.
