Ujjain Horror: 16-Year-Old Stripped, Beaten & Paraded Naked for 1.5 km By Girl’s Family

The CSR Journal Magazine

A shocking incident of mob violence and public humiliation has rocked Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain, where a 16-year-old boy was allegedly stripped naked, brutally assaulted, and paraded through public streets for nearly 1.5 kilometres. The incident came to light after disturbing videos circulated widely on social media, triggering public outrage and condemnation.

Teen Relationship at the Centre

Police officials said the incident stemmed from a teenage love affair. The boy and a girl of the same age, both residents of the Panwasa area, were in a relationship and had eloped around three months ago. They later surrendered at a police station, following which the boy was sent to jail while the girl was placed in a juvenile reform home. The episode reportedly angered the girl’s family, who allegedly held the boy responsible.

Ambushed While Seeking Help

According to the victim, after being released from jail, he moved to Dewas with his specially abled mother to stay with his aunt. On Thursday, when his mother’s health deteriorated, the boy returned to Ujjain to arrange money for her treatment. While near the Shri Synthetics area, he was allegedly caught by members of the girl’s family.

The boy alleged that he was severely beaten, his clothes torn off, and his hands tied with a rope. He was then dragged naked through busy market areas from Shankarpur towards the Panwasa police station. Hundreds of people reportedly witnessed the act, but no one intervened. Instead, several bystanders recorded videos on their mobile phones.

Rescue and Delayed Action

The victim claimed that policemen outside Panwasa police station eventually noticed him and rescued him. Though the accused were initially detained, they were reportedly released the same evening. The following day, the boy and his disabled mother approached the Police Control Room to formally lodge a complaint, after which the case gained attention.

FIR Registered, Accused Arrested

Additional Superintendent of Police Alok Sharma confirmed that an FIR has been registered against four individuals for stripping and publicly parading a minor. “The accused have been taken into custody, and further investigation is ongoing,” he said. Police are also identifying others involved using video evidence.

The incident has sparked serious concerns over mob justice, public silence, and the safety of minors. Social and student organisations have demanded strict action against all those involved, calling the incident a grave violation of human dignity and the rule of law.

Additional Superintendent of Police Alok Sharma said four individuals were involved in stripping and publicly parading the 16-year-old minor. “An FIR has been registered and all four accused have been arrested,” he said.
