Nestle India has announced a substantial increase in its consolidated net profit for the September quarter of FY27, reporting a rise of 36.32 per cent to ₹1,026.77 crore. This figure marks a significant improvement from the ₹743.17 crore profit recorded during the same quarter in the previous fiscal year. The company disclosed these results in a regulatory filing on Thursday.

In terms of revenue, Nestle India experienced a 20.45 per cent increase, with total sales reaching ₹6,782.17 crore during the July-September quarter. This is an increase from ₹5,630.23 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. The growth in revenue is attributed to strong demand across various product categories.

Chairman and Managing Director Manish Tiwary highlighted that the quarter exhibited robust and broad-based growth across all product groups. He noted that total sales reached ₹6,782.2 crore, driven by significant double-digit volume growth. The company’s strategy of focusing on operational efficiencies while enhancing brand investments has reportedly paid off.

Operational Efficiencies and Marketing Investments

Nestle India has prioritised operational efficiencies in its business model, which has allowed for increased investments in marketing and advertising. The company reported a 46 per cent rise in its marketing spend, reflecting its commitment to strengthening brand presence in a competitive market. This strategy aims to capture greater market share and enhance consumer engagement.

The company’s EBITDA margin remained stable at 23.8 per cent, indicating effective cost management and operational performance. Total expenses for the quarter rose by 17 per cent, amounting to ₹5,405.55 crore. This increase in expenses was primarily driven by higher input costs and increased marketing expenditures.

Domestic sales also saw a notable increase, climbing by 20.4 per cent to ₹6,514.74 crore compared to ₹5,411.02 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. This growth reflects the company’s successful strategies in catering to local consumer preferences and expanding its distribution network.

Export Revenue and Total Income

Nestle India’s revenue from exports rose by 22 per cent, reaching ₹267.43 crore, contributing positively to the overall financial performance. The increase in export revenue signifies the company’s efforts to enhance its international market presence and diversify its revenue streams.

Total income for the second quarter of FY27 was reported at ₹6,808.6 crore, marking a 20.52 per cent increase from ₹5,649.15 crore in the same period last year. This growth in total income underscores the company’s strong operational performance and effective market strategies.

In the stock market, shares of Nestle India were observed trading at ₹1,332.70 during mid-day trade, reflecting a decline of 3.7 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). This fluctuation in share prices may be influenced by market reactions to the quarterly results and broader economic conditions.
