Traffic Advisory Issued for Delhi Due to Upcoming Protest Near BJP Headquarters

The CSR Journal Magazine

Traffic in central Delhi is expected to face disruptions on March 13 as authorities anticipate a demonstration near the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters. Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory informing commuters that the protest is likely to take place between 9 AM and 2 PM in the area surrounding Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Marg.

Officials warned that increased security arrangements and pedestrian movement could lead to congestion on nearby roads.

Possible Congestion on Key Roads

According to the advisory, traffic flow on DDU Marg and adjoining routes may slow significantly during the protest hours. Police said motorists travelling through the area should expect delays as security personnel manage crowd movement and vehicle flow.

The stretch connecting IP Marg to ITO is also expected to experience heavier than usual traffic during the demonstration period. Vehicles passing through central Delhi could encounter diversions or temporary restrictions depending on the situation on the ground.

Authorities said such measures are typically taken to maintain safety and prevent overcrowding near sensitive locations during public gatherings.

Commuters Urged to Plan Ahead

Delhi Police have advised commuters to plan their travel carefully and avoid the affected routes if possible. Drivers heading toward central Delhi during the morning and early afternoon hours have been asked to consider alternative roads to reduce travel delays.

Public transport users may also experience slower movement of buses and taxis passing through the region due to traffic congestion.

Traffic Management Measures in Place

Traffic personnel are expected to be deployed at key intersections around DDU Marg, IP Marg and the ITO area to regulate vehicle movement and guide motorists toward alternate routes.

Authorities said the advisory is part of routine precautionary planning during protests or large gatherings in the capital. Officials have urged residents and commuters to follow traffic instructions and remain patient while travelling through the area.
