The CSR Journal Magazine

On March 24, residents of the Shia community assembled at the Imambara in Chanderkot, Ramban district, to provide aid to those impacted by the ongoing conflict in Iran. The event saw an outpouring of support, with individuals donating a variety of items ranging from household goods to valuable jewelry, all aimed at assisting those in distress across the border.

Material and Monetary Donations Collected

Numerous locals from Chanderkot contributed diverse forms of aid, including cash donations, utensils, gold, silver, and even children’s savings. Women participated actively in the donation drive, with some removing their gold and silver ornaments, including bangles and earrings, to help support the people of war-affected Iran. Additionally, a man made a unique contribution by donating his sheep.

Voices of Support from the Community

Bushra Shakir, a participant in the donation drive, expressed her sentiments, stating her commitment to helping Iran in this challenging time. “I am here to donate money for Iran, alongside many others who have gathered for this cause. It is essential that we all support Iran. We have high hopes for the new leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, and believe that Iran will emerge victorious. We will celebrate Eid when Iran wins,” she declared, while standing with her money box ready to give.

Similar Efforts in Budgam

In a parallel effort, residents in the Budgam district have also shown their solidarity with Iran, contributing gold, silver, and cash to support the nation amid the Gulf War crisis. Mohsin Ali from Budgam highlighted the establishment of a donation stall at Masjid Imam Zaman specifically designed for this purpose.

Community’s Call for Humanitarian Support

Ali explained that local mothers and sisters have been contributing jewelry, copper items, and cash in support of Iran. “While we cannot physically go to Iran to offer support, we can provide financial assistance to aid the nation during this crisis. We have come together here, united in our humanitarian goal,” he noted.

Standing Against Oppression

Furthermore, Ali elaborated on the significance of supporting Iran’s cause, stating that the community’s efforts reflect a stand against oppression. “Iran has chosen to resist the oppressor, and by supporting its cause, we are lending our voice to the oppressed. Although we cannot join the battle physically, we have decided to provide financial support to ensure they can defend their system and confront their adversaries,” he said.
