Ranbir Kapoor Announces Postponement of Love & War; Film to Release After Ramayana

The CSR Journal Magazine

Ranbir Kapoor engaged with his followers during an Instagram live session on Saturday, celebrating the anniversary of his brand, Arks. He took the opportunity to provide updates on his anticipated films, confirming that his next project, Ramayana, is set for release.

Details on Upcoming Releases

During the live interaction, Kapoor disclosed that the release of Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and featuring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, will be scheduled after Ramayana. Originally slated for an August 2026 release, Love & War has now been postponed and is expected to premiere either later this year or in early 2027, following the Diwali debut of Ramayana.

Longer Production Timelines

Kapoor elaborated on the extended timelines of his projects, explaining that, while some actors manage to complete films in a matter of months, his projects tend to take longer to produce due to their ambitious scale and artistic vision. He expressed hope that the final products would justify the wait for his fans.

Updates on Future Projects

In addition to Ramayana, Kapoor shared insights about his forthcoming films. He stated that the shooting for Brahmastra 2 will commence sooner than many fans might expect. He also mentioned that Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s Animal Park is in the development phase and is projected to start filming in the middle of next year.

Fan Requests for Sequels

When fans inquired about sequels to his previous works, including Tamasha, Rockstar, and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Kapoor expressed interest in reprising his role as Jordan in Rockstar 2, contingent on director Imtiaz Ali crafting a suitable script. He reflected on Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, noting its satisfying conclusion but hinted at the possibility of another project within a similar thematic genre in the future.

About Love & War

Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has generated significant anticipation as an epic romantic saga. Starring the talented trio of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, the film is said to be a modern homage to the classic 1964 film Sangam. This project marks a shift from Bhansali’s typical historical sets, centering instead on a complicated love triangle involving Air Force officers set against a backdrop of the 1960s.
