OnePlus is reportedly developing its next high-performance smartphone, the OnePlus Ace 7. Although the company has not officially announced any details regarding the device, recent leaks from Chinese sources have provided insights into what could be a significant addition to the gaming smartphone market. This device is expected to be launched in India and other global markets under the name OnePlus 16R, aligning with the company’s established naming conventions.

Innovative Cooling Technology

A standout feature of the OnePlus Ace 7 is its built-in active cooling fan, which is uncommon in smartphones outside of dedicated gaming models. According to schematics shared by the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, this smartphone will incorporate a dual-airflow design aimed at enhancing performance during intensive gaming sessions. The design allows for cool air to be drawn in from the bottom while hot air is expelled through vents on the sides, ensuring that heat is directed away from the areas where users typically place their fingers during gameplay.

To optimise the cooling system for everyday use, OnePlus is reportedly integrating AI-assisted temperature sensors alongside proprietary dampening technology. This combination is intended to minimise fan noise and prevent dust accumulation within the device, thereby improving overall longevity and user experience.

Performance and Display Features

Under the hood, the OnePlus Ace 7 is anticipated to feature Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which is expected to deliver flagship-level performance. Benchmark results on Geekbench suggest that the device may come with up to 16GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and high-performance gaming capabilities. The operating system is likely to be ColorOS 17, based on Android 17, providing users with a modern interface and enhanced features.

The display is expected to see a significant upgrade, featuring a 6.78-inch flat LTPS OLED panel with a sharp 1.5K resolution. The impressive 185Hz refresh rate is designed to offer exceptionally fluid animations and superior touch responsiveness, which are critical for competitive mobile gaming. This combination of hardware is set to enhance the overall visual experience for users.

Camera and Battery Specifications

Despite its focus on gaming, the OnePlus Ace 7 is not compromising on camera capabilities. The rear camera setup is expected to include a 200-megapixel primary sensor, complemented by a 50-megapixel secondary sensor. For selfies and video calls, a 16-megapixel front-facing camera is anticipated. This robust camera configuration aims to cater to users who value photography alongside gaming performance.

To support the device’s high-performance features, it is expected to house a substantial 9,000mAh battery. To minimise downtime, OnePlus is reportedly planning to include either 100W or 120W wired fast charging support, allowing users to quickly recharge the device between gaming sessions. This large battery capacity is designed to ensure that users can enjoy extended usage without frequent interruptions.

Expected Launch Timeline and Pricing in India

The OnePlus Ace 7 is expected to make its debut in China first, potentially as early as the end of this month or later in the fourth quarter of the year. Following this, Indian consumers are likely to see the device launched as the OnePlus 16R, possibly in late 2026 or early 2027. Early market speculation suggests that the pricing for this premium performance smartphone could range between Rs 70,000 and Rs 75,000 in India, positioning it within the high-end segment of the market.
