Nikita Porwal to Represent India at Miss World 2026 in Vietnam

The CSR Journal Magazine

Nikita Porwal is poised to represent India at the 73rd Miss World Festival, with the grand finale scheduled to take place on September 5, 2026, in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Before her foray into the world of pageantry, Porwal had already made a name for herself through her extensive involvement in theatre and storytelling. Hailing from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, she was crowned Femina Miss India World 2024 in October 2024 and has been diligently preparing for this global event since then.

Porwal completed her early education at Carmel Convent Senior Secondary School and continued her academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Performing Arts with a focus on theatre from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. She took the decision to pursue the Miss India title, even knowing that no woman from her home state had held the title in over sixty years. This determination was critical in her journey, exemplifying her belief in herself and highlighting the unwavering support she received from her mother throughout her quest.

Theatrical Pursuits and Achievements

What distinguishes Porwal from many contestants in beauty pageants is her rich engagement with the theatre. As documented by the Miss World organisation, she has performed in over sixty theatrical productions and holds a degree in Performing Arts, specialising in Dramatics. In addition to acting, she is a playwright and serves as the Creative Director for a theatre company called Rangrays.

Porwal has notably authored a 250-page theatrical work titled *Krishna Leela*. Her talents extend beyond the stage, having also acted in the Brij language film *Chambal Paar*, which received recognition at international film festivals. With more than six years of acting training, she sees her participation in the Miss World pageant as complementary to her lifelong ambition in acting, rather than a diversion.

In interviews, Porwal has identified Priyanka Chopra Jonas as a significant role model, appreciating her journey of success without the typical backing from the film industry. This connection reinforces Porwal’s own aspirations within the performing arts.

Vision for Miss World 2026

For Nikita Porwal, the Miss World platform represents an opportunity to narrate her nation’s story on a global stage. She regards her transition from theatre to pageantry as an expansion of her ability to communicate through storytelling. In discussions about her journey, she has reflected that while her past work involved theatre and poetry, her focus now is on sharing the story of India with the world.

Her evolving perspective on success underscores this sentiment. Instead of solely aspiring to win the crown, Porwal aims to embody the best representation of India during her tenure as Miss World. India’s legacy in the pageant arena has seen it secure the Miss World title six times, and Porwal hopes to contribute significantly to this legacy as she steps onto the international stage in Nha Trang.

With her profound dedication to both the performing arts and cultural representation, Nikita Porwal stands as a figure poised to make an impactful impression at the Miss World Festival, fusing her artistic talents with her national pride.
