Lips Sealed With Glue, Stone Inside Mouth, 15-Day-Old Baby Found Abandoned In Rajasthan Forest

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a deeply disturbing incident in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district, a 15-day-old baby was found abandoned in a forest in critical condition. The infant’s mouth had been sealed shut with glue, and a stone was stuffed inside to muffle its cries. The baby was discovered by a cattle herder near the Sita Ka Kund temple in Mandalgarh.

Attempt to Silence Infant Foiled by Rescuers

The cattle herder, upon spotting the infant, immediately alerted locals who removed the stone from the baby’s mouth. Shocked by the inhumane condition, the locals rushed the infant to a nearby government hospital in Bijolia. Doctors reported adhesive marks on both the baby’s mouth and thighs. Thankfully, the child survived the brutal attempt on his life and is receiving medical treatment.

Authorities have begun a detailed investigation to locate the parents of the abandoned baby. The police are reviewing recent delivery records from nearby hospitals and conducting searches in surrounding villages. They have also initiated interviews with local residents to gather more information. The motive behind such cruel treatment remains unclear, though the police are hopeful of finding the responsible individuals.

“The baby, believed to be around 15-20 days old, is currently receiving treatment,” police confirmed.

Similar Incidents of Infant Abandonment

This heartbreaking incident comes amidst a troubling rise in infant abandonment cases across India. Earlier this month, a five-month-old baby girl was found abandoned in Chandigarh by a taxi driver, and in Jharkhand, another infant was discovered in a drain with fractured hands but is now stable.

“At first, we thought it was a kitten or puppy crying,” a local resident said. “But when we looked closer, we were stunned. It was a newborn baby, shivering, wrapped in a blanket, clearly hungry.” The parents were later asked to take the child back. Police are raising alarms about the disturbing trend and calling for more efforts to prevent such tragedies.

Growing Cases

With a growing number of cases involving the abandonment and abuse of infants, authorities are calling for more stringent laws and quicker responses to ensure children’s safety. This incident in Bhilwara underscores the urgency of tackling child abandonment and providing greater protection for vulnerable children across the country.
