In a shocking turn of events in Santacruz East, Mumbai, a 25-year-old woman allegedly attacked her 42-year-old lover with a knife, injuring his private parts after he refused to marry her, police said. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday at the woman’s residence, shortly after New Year celebrations.
Victim Undergoes Emergency Surgery
The victim, who is the brother of the accused’s sister-in-law, was rushed first to VN Desai Hospital and later transferred to Sion Hospital for emergency treatment. “Our urology and general surgery teams operated on him soon after he was brought to hospital. He is recovering right now,” confirmed Dr. Pramod Ingale, dean of Sion Hospital.
Police said the couple had been in an extramarital relationship for around seven years. “The accused had wanted to marry the victim, but he refused to leave his wife and children,” a police officer stated. The victim also said that while the woman had gone to her hometown in Bihar, she continued threatening him over phone calls. After returning to Mumbai on December 19, he tried to avoid any contact with her.
Man Survives Knife Attack
On New Year’s night, around 1:30 am, the woman invited the victim to her home under the pretense of giving him sweets to celebrate. While her two children, aged four and seven, were asleep in the house, she allegedly asked him to remove his pants and attacked him with a sharp knife. Despite the severe injuries, the victim managed to escape and alerted his son and brother, who rushed him to the hospital.
The accused remains absconding, and police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for causing grievous hurt by dangerous means and criminal intimidation. Multiple teams have been deployed to track her down.
