The Mercedes-AMG G 63 has been expanded with the launch of a special variant known as the Off-Road Pro. This edition has been designed to enhance its off-road capabilities while retaining its luxury SUV characteristics. It carries a price tag of Rs 3.80 crore (ex-showroom), catering to enthusiasts seeking both performance and versatility in their vehicle.

Advanced Features and Specifications

The G 63 Off-Road Pro is equipped with an AMG Active Ride Control suspension system that includes features such as active roll stabilisation and active balance control adjustable in three stages. These enhancements are aimed at improving the vehicle’s handling and comfort on various terrains. The addition of the Traction Pro mode allows the driver to engage Rock and Sand modes for specific off-road scenarios.

Mercedes has highlighted that the new system can manage braking torque individually across each wheel, providing enhanced stability. This version also features a seven-stage locking mechanism, making it more adept for rugged drives. An aluminium roof rack, which includes panels and a removable rear ladder, complements its off-road design, while exclusive 20-inch AMG alloy wheels in matte black add to its aesthetic appeal.

Inside the cabin, the SUV maintains a high standard of luxury with the MBUX operating system and dedicated off-road digital displays that provide essential performance data. This combination of technology and design aims to offer a premium experience for both drivers and passengers alike.

Performance Capabilities

The G 63 Off-Road Pro is powered by a robust 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine which delivers a formidable 585 bhp and 850 Nm of torque. Additionally, there is a 22 bhp 48V hybrid system integrated into the vehicle, adding to its performance capacity. The all-wheel-drive (AWD) system comes standard, allowing the G 63 to achieve a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds, highlighting its sports prowess.

This special edition commands a premium of Rs 6 lakh over the standard G 63 model, reflecting its unique features and improvements aimed at off-road enthusiasts. Mercedes has indicated that the Off-Road Pro will be available in limited numbers, further enhancing its exclusivity in the luxury SUV segment.
