In a shocking incident in Kanpur’s Dariyapur village, a woman bit her ex-boyfriend’s tongue in two after he allegedly molested and forcibly kissed her. The man, identified as 35-year-old Champi, was reportedly distressed over the woman distancing herself after her family arranged her marriage to another man.

Bilhaur police station in-charge Ashok Kumar Saroj said that 35-year-old Champi, a resident of Dariyapur, was in a love affair with a young woman from his village. However, the woman’s marriage was arranged elsewhere. After the marriage was finalized, the woman distanced herself from him. This upset Champi and he was constantly trying to meet her.

Champi allegedly struggled to accept this and would often attempt to meet her. On Monday afternoon, while the woman went to a nearby pond to collect clay for her stove, Champi followed her and allegedly grabbed her, attempting to molest her.

The Woman’s Self-Defense

On Monday afternoon, the young woman had gone to the pond to collect clay for a stove. Seeing her alone, Champi went there and began molesting her. She resisted, but he refused and began kissing her forcefully. During the struggle, the man’s tongue caught between her teeth. Without delay, the woman bit down hard, severing a portion of it. The injury caused severe bleeding, and Champi cried out in pain. Villagers rushed to the scene and alerted his family.

Passing villagers witnessed the incident. They informed the injured youth’s family. The family immediately rushed him to the Community Health Center (CHC) with the scalpel and the severed tongue. After providing first aid, doctors referred him to Hallet Hospital in Kanpur.

Police Action

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dinesh Tripathi, confirmed the incident, stating that a case had been registered against Champi. Authorities have initiated further legal proceedings in connection with the alleged molestation.

This incident highlights issues of personal safety and the extreme steps some individuals take in self-defense during assaults. The local police have urged citizens to report any harassment and assured strict action against offenders.
