Mahindra Logistics inaugurates water project at Tembha

Mahindra Logistics Ltd. (MLL) has set-up a water project at Tembha (Thakurpada), a hamlet near Shahapur as part of its CSR initiative. Shahapur, the largest taluka in Thane district, faces severe water shortage during the summer season. Towards easing the situation and improving lives of residents, Mahindra Logistics has adopted the
village and is conducting various developmental initiatives including infrastructure development, education, health and vocational guidance amongst others.

As part of the project, Mahindra Logistics has set-up pipeline to the nearest water source and will pump the water. This water will thereafter be collected in tanks having 20,000-litre capacity that has been installed in the village. The initiative will benefit around 75 families and shall be a permanent solution to the current water woes.

Ms. Reshma Amle, Sarpanch, Tembha Village, said, “We had to walk 2-3 kilometre, every single day of our lives, to fetch just one bucket of water. This project will certainly benefit us tremendously.”
