Aarohi Deepak Bidlan, a 13-year-old student from Mastagad in Maharashtra’s Jalna district, died on Friday morning after falling from the top floor of her school building, prompting police to launch a detailed probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Father Says Daughter Showed No Signs of Distress
According to her father, Deepak Ashok Bidlan, the school contacted him unexpectedly while classes had just begun.
“I received a call from the school that my child had… done something like that. I went to the school and was told she was taken to a hospital. There, the doctors said that there are very few chances of her surviving. She was then referred to the civil hospital, where she was declared dead,” he said.
He insisted that Aarohi, who was studying in Class 8 at CTMK Gujarati School, seemed normal before leaving home, adding, “She was fine when she left home, the teachers must have tortured her.”
Police Confirm Death; Say No Statement of Harassment Yet
Investigators believe the fall occurred sometime between 7:30 and 8:00 am. Inspector Sandeep Bharti from Sadar Bazar police station said the case is being examined from multiple angles.
He stated, “Around 7:30 am to 8:00 am, the girl died by suicide by jumping from the third floor of the school building.”
On the father’s allegations, Bharti noted that no written complaint has been provided yet and that “Nothing of that sort has come before us yet. The parents have not given any statement until now.”
School Staff Rushed Her to Hospital
Teachers reportedly moved Aarohi to a private medical facility immediately after finding her critically injured. She was later shifted to the district hospital but could not be saved. Officers are reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to students and staff to determine what led to the tragedy. The police have registered an Accidental Death Report as the inquiry continues.
