Madhya Pradesh Hospital Under Fire After Obscene Videos of Staff Go Viral, Probe Ordered

The CSR Journal Magazine

Ashoknagar District Hospital in Madhya Pradesh is at the center of controversy after two objectionable videos, allegedly showing couples engaging in indecent acts on hospital premises, surfaced online.

The clips, reportedly recorded in the hospital’s waiting area and Madhav Udyan park, are believed to be two to three days old and quickly went viral, causing public outrage and prompting an internal investigation by health authorities.

Security Lapses Under Scrutiny

The circulation of the videos follows earlier reports of individuals consuming alcohol on the hospital premises, raising serious questions about the facility’s security and administrative oversight. Civil Surgeon Dr. Bhupendra Singh acknowledged a lapse by hospital authorities, calling the incidents “highly inappropriate” for a medical facility.

He confirmed that a detailed inquiry has been initiated, including questioning security personnel on duty. “The security personnel on duty at the time will be summoned, and steps will be taken to ensure such incidents do not recur,” he said.

Staff Transfers After Investigation

Following the viral videos, the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) took immediate action. A doctor and a staff nurse at the Ruthiyai Primary Health Center in Guna district, reportedly captured in compromising positions on video, have been transferred to different postings.

The investigation confirmed the incidents, and disciplinary measures are being recommended to preserve the department’s reputation. “Necessary resources will be increased, and arrangements will be improved to maintain discipline and decorum within the hospital,” he added.

Police Advisory on CCTV Usage

In response to the incidents, Bhopal police issued an advisory urging operators of CCTV cameras in homes, offices, shops, and hospitals to exercise caution. The guidelines emphasize safeguarding passwords, avoiding default usernames, and refraining from installing cameras in private or sensitive areas to prevent unauthorized recordings and circulation of videos.

Steps to Strengthen Hospital Security

Hospital management has issued a notice to the security agency responsible for monitoring the premises and promised corrective measures. Dr. Singh assured that surveillance and security infrastructure will be strengthened, and necessary resources will be allocated to maintain discipline and prevent similar incidents in the future.

Authorities have emphasized that maintaining decorum within medical facilities remains a top priority.
