Karisma Kapoor’s Children Score Legal Victory as Delhi Court Orders Forensic Analysis of Sunjay Kapur’s Will

The CSR Journal Magazine

The inheritance dispute involving the estate of the late businessman Sunjay Kapur has reached a significant turning point. A Delhi court has ordered a forensic and handwriting analysis of a contested will that could determine the future of a corporate empire valued at approximately Rs30,000 crore.

This decision, announced by Gagan Deep Jindal, Joint Registrar (Judicial) of the Delhi High Court, has generated considerable attention in both political and entertainment circles.

Kapur’s Children Push for Expert Scrutiny

The court’s ruling follows persistent requests from Samaira and Kiaan Kapur, Sunjay Kapur’s children from his marriage to actress Karisma Kapoor. The siblings have requested that the will be subjected to expert examination since November 2025, asserting that forensic testing is essential to clarify the circumstances surrounding the document’s creation and its authenticity regarding their father’s intentions.

Opposition to Forensic Testing

Additionally, the court dismissed a request for adjournment filed by Priya Kapur and her son Azarius, stating that they had not adhered to the timeline for responses and appeared to be intentionally delaying the proceedings.

This judicial order, released on February 28, puts Priya Kapur at a disadvantage, as she is the sole objector against the forensic examination, with no objections raised by other stakeholders, including the will’s executor, Shraddha Suri Marwah, or Sunjay Kapur’s mother, Rani Kapur.

Priya Kapur’s Claims and Challenges

Priya Kapur has asserted that the will was drafted and signed in her presence and subsequently given to the executor at their Rajokri residence. She also claims to be the main beneficiary of Sunjay Kapur’s business interests, which encompass a substantial stake in the auto components firm Sona Comstar through associated family trusts. Following Sunjay Kapur’s death, she reportedly took swift actions to manage significant entities within the Sona Group.
