IndiGo, SpiceJet and Gulf Air Adjust Flights as West Asia Conflict Disrupts Operations

The CSR Journal Magazine

In light of the ongoing conflict in West Asia, IndiGo has announced further restrictions on its flights to and from Dubai. The airline indicated that such measures are necessary due to the heightened situation in the Middle East, which has impacted its operations significantly. As a consequence, some flights scheduled between March 15 and 17 have been affected. IndiGo has advised customers to verify their flight status prior to heading to the airport and is proactively sending notifications to passengers through their registered contact details. For additional assistance, customers can reach out to the airline’s Customer Contact Centre.

SpiceJet and Gulf Air Respond with Flight Modifications

In conjunction with IndiGo’s announcement, SpiceJet has also made adjustments to its flight operations. The airline is providing special flight services from Fujairah in the UAE to India while restricting travel to and from Dubai. It has communicated these changes to passengers via SMS and email, advising them to check their flight status before departing for the airport. Like IndiGo, SpiceJet has also established a 24×7 Reservation Helpline to assist affected customers.

Gulf Air Operational Changes Due to Airspace Restrictions

Gulf Air has released an advisory regarding adjustments to its flight operations caused by the closure of Bahrain’s airspace. The airline is temporarily rerouting several flights through Dammam. Gulf Air has stated that passengers can now book commercial flights to various international destinations, including London, Mumbai, and Bangkok, via King Fahad International Airport. Updates about this situation will be provided as necessary.

Special Services for Passengers

In addition to its standard operations, SpiceJet has announced the launch of a special flight from Dubai to Pune. This initiative is aimed at assisting passengers who wish to travel back to India amid the current disruptions. Airlines are adapting quickly to the ongoing challenges posed by the regional conflict, ensuring that they continue to meet passenger needs as effectively as possible while prioritizing safety.
