Gujarat Horror: Man Tied to Mango Tree, Beaten to Death Over Affair

A 45-year-old man from Madhada village in Amreli district, Gujarat, was killed after being accused of having an affair with a widow from the accused’s family. The tragic incident happened late on Sunday night and has left the whole village in shock and fear.

The victim, Parshottam alias Chhana Gohil, was a father of four and worked as a sharecropper in Madhada village. He lived in the nearby village of Virdi and was known as a hardworking man in the area.

According to police, the accused were angered after discovering his relationship with the widowed daughter-in-law of Jiva Bhaliya, one of the main suspects. The accused decided to punish him themselves, instead of going to the police.

The Lynching

On the day of the incident, Parshottam was called to a mango orchard owned by Jiva Bhaliya. There, he was tied to a mango tree and beaten for hours with wooden sticks, plastic pipes, and belts by nine members of the Bhaliya family. Despite pleas for mercy from Parshottam’s co-brother Bharat, the attackers did not stop. Bharat, who tried to save him, was also threatened and forced to run away to save his own life.

After the assault, Parshottam was still alive and was taken to Savarkundla hospital by his family.Sadly, doctors declared him dead on arrival. On the way to the hospital, Parshottam reportedly confessed to his brother about his affair with the widow, saying the family had recently found out about their relationship.

The police were informed immediately after the incident. The victim’s brother, Gordhan Gohil, filed a complaint at the Savarkundla Rural police station. Police acted quickly and arrested all nine accused named in the First Information Report (FIR). The incident has created fear and unrest in the village, with many residents worried about the rise of mob justice and violence in the name of family honour.

The case is being investigated by local police, who have promised strict action against those responsible. Authorities have appealed to the public not to take the law into their own hands and to report any disputes to the police instead of resorting to violence. This tragic incident has once again highlighted the need for more awareness and sensitivity towards personal relationships and the dangers of mob mentality in rural India.
