Father Allegedly Rapes Teen, Forces Abortion, and Sells Newborn

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a disturbing case from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, six individuals, including the father of a 16-year-old girl, have been arrested for alleged sexual abuse and child trafficking. The police reported that the father was involved in multiple instances of rape against his daughter, as well as forging her Aadhaar card to present her as an adult married woman.

The complaints were lodged at New Rajendra Nagar police station, where the victim detailed her harrowing experiences. Initially, she claimed that the abuse began when her father allegedly raped her at a relative’s house in Amlihdih, threatening her life should she reveal the incident. Out of fear, the girl did not come forward immediately.

Details of the Alleged Abuse

According to the girl’s account, the father continued to assault her, leading to pregnancy. Upon disclosing her condition to her aunt, the aunt reportedly informed the father, who then procured abortion pills. With the aunt’s complicity, her father allegedly forced her to take the medication, resulting in a miscarriage, as stated in the police report.

Following this, it is alleged that the father raped her again on several occasions, resulting in a second pregnancy in 2025. To manage this situation, the father reportedly arranged for her to stay at the residence of a female acquaintance, who was meant to ensure her safety during childbirth. The suspect’s acquaintance subsequently relocated her to another friend’s home, where she remained for about two months.

While at the friend’s house, it is alleged that the acquaintance misrepresented the girl’s age, falsely claiming that she was older and married. This deception enabled her admission to Vasudev Hospital in Danganiya, Raipur, where she ultimately gave birth via caesarean section. Post-delivery, the newborn was reportedly handed over to another individual by medical staff in collusion with the father and his associates.

Legal Actions and Investigations

Following the allegations, the girl was reportedly coerced into signing documents under duress. After remaining at the acquaintance’s friend’s residence for about 15 days post-delivery, her father allegedly returned her home. The complaint also accuses him of forging the survivor’s Aadhaar card to increase her age and falsely depict her as married to facilitate her hospital admission.

In response to the complaint, law enforcement registered a comprehensive case under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The police took these allegations seriously and directed the New Rajendra Nagar police to arrest the involved parties. Consequently, all six suspects, including the girl’s father, were apprehended, and two mobile phones believed to be related to the case were seized.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case, focusing on all elements of the reported abuses. Community support and further legal actions are expected as the case progresses, highlighting the need for stricter enforcement of laws protecting vulnerable individuals from such heinous crimes.
