CSR in Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation panel approves 16 CSR projects
During a standing committee meeting presided by mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) panel has given a nod to a total of 16 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects. These include CSR initiatives like pond rejuvenation, construction of community halls, and tree plantation drives.
Approved projects
Following are some of the proposed projects which have received a green signal.
With an aim to rejuvenate the ponds, lakes and other water bodies in and around Hyderabad, the standing committee has approved a MoU signing between Zonal Commissioner of Serilingampally and Malligavad Foundation for rejuvenation of Regula Kunta in Miyapur with CSR support for one year.
Restoration and beautification of the Pedda Talla Kunta in Upparapalli of Ranga Reddy district for three years has been approved. This will be taken up by the GST and Customs Department.
Another MoU signing has been approved between the Zonal Commissioner of LB Nagar Zone and Green Yatra company to maintain Kapra Lake for a period of three years.
Construction of a storm water drain from Pedda Cheruvu to Jangam Bandham Kunta has received green signal at the meeting. The purpose is to curb inundation in Ward No. 125 of Gajularamaram Circle. The drain will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 11.15 crore with CSR funds.
Construction of a community hall in Chandanagar has been approved, along with a multipurpose function hall at Jawahar Nagar. The estimated cost for this project is Rs 5.60 crore.
