Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Company Limited (Kotak Life) is further strengthening its commitment to community healthcare through the launch of seven new Mobile Medical Vans (MMVs) across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, bringing the total deployment in the region to 14 vans. This strategic initiative aims to enhance primary healthcare services. During the inauguration, two vans will be flagged off from Coimbatore on August 19 and will serve multiple districts across the region.
Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Kotak Life, in collaboration with Wockhardt Foundation, will deploy two MMVs in Coimbatore and one MMV each in Ramanathapuram, Nagapattinam, Krishnagiri, Kallakuruchi and Puducherry. These MMVs will offer free primary health check-ups, diagnostic services and basic healthcare treatments directly at the doorsteps of beneficiaries in remote and semi-urban areas. As part of the initiative, Kotak Life will bear operational expenses, provide medical supplies, offer capacity-building training and ensure the efficient functioning of the MMVs.
Mahesh Balasubramanian, Managing Director, Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Company Limited said, “At Kotak Life, we believe that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right. By expanding our Mobile Medical Van initiative, we are reaching deeper into underserved communities and helping build a healthier, more inclusive India.”
In FY25–26, Kotak Life has allocated over 45% of its CSR budget to projects in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, with a strong focus on healthcare and education. These initiatives primarily aim to deliver primary healthcare through Mobile Medical Vans (MMVs) and promote eye care through eye donation awareness programs and drives. Under its scholarship program, the company is also enabling access to higher education across 23 colleges in Tamil Nadu.
