BJP’s R Ashoka Slams RaGa Over Sting Operation Involving Siddaramaiah

The CSR Journal Magazine

Senior BJP leader R Ashoka has accused the Congress party of engaging in unethical tactics following allegations made by Yathindra Siddaramaiah. Yathindra, son of former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, claimed that members within the Congress were behind a purported sting operation aimed at damaging his father’s reputation. This incident has sparked a significant political controversy in Karnataka.

Ashoka, who serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, directed his criticism not only at the Congress party but specifically at Rahul Gandhi. He questioned Gandhi’s “Mohabbat ki Dukaan” slogan, suggesting that the current political climate in Karnataka has descended into a moral crisis, allegedly orchestrated by Congress leaders themselves.

Yathindra Siddaramaiah asserted that the alleged sting operation was intended to tarnish his father’s image. He pointed to a video that reportedly features a Congress woman seeking a party ticket from Puttur, along with the head of a media organisation, as evidence of this internal conspiracy.

Allegations of Corruption and Backstabbing

In a statement on social media platform X, Ashoka remarked, “Mr Rahul Gandhi, is this your ‘Mohabbat ki Dukaan’ or a wholesale ‘Sting Operation ki Dukaan’?” He further claimed that the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee had transformed from a political party into what he described as a “shameless mafia syndicate” that thrives on deceitful tactics.

Ashoka accused Congress ministers in Karnataka of engaging in secret sting operations, running extortion schemes, and blackmailing fellow party members to secure political tickets and settle personal grievances. He questioned the integrity of the Congress leadership, suggesting that their actions contradict the values they profess to uphold.

He also referred to the “Guarantee Model” promoted by Rahul Gandhi, challenging its authenticity by highlighting the alleged covert operations and internal betrayals within the Congress party. Ashoka’s comments reflect a broader concern regarding the ethical standards of political conduct in Karnataka.

Legal Actions and Govt Response

Late last month, two videos containing allegations against Siddaramaiah were uploaded on YouTube, prompting the former chief minister to seek legal recourse. He obtained an injunction that prevents the media from reporting on the videos and filed a police complaint requesting an investigation into the matter.

Ashoka also took aim at the state government led by Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, describing it as a passive observer to what he termed a “cheap, gutter-level circus.” He suggested that the internal conflicts and betrayals among Congress leaders reflect poorly on the administration’s integrity and effectiveness.

Addressing Shivakumar directly, Ashoka stated, “When your own Cabinet ministers expose a web of internal blackmail and betrayal, it proves your administration is rotten to the core.” He warned that the consequences of the alleged corruption and conspiracies would soon catch up with the current government.

The ongoing political dispute centres on Yathindra’s allegations regarding the involvement of Congress members in the purported sting operation against Siddaramaiah. Ashoka has leveraged this situation to launch a broader critique of the Congress leadership and the governance in Karnataka, underscoring the tensions within the state’s political landscape.
