BJP to Initiate ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ in Assam Before Assembly Elections

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to unveil its ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ in Assam as part of its outreach strategy leading up to the forthcoming Assembly elections in the state. The yatra will commence on February 28 and is planned to cover all Assembly constituencies within Assam.

This initiative seeks to enhance the party’s rapport with the electorate and to showcase the developmental projects and welfare programs implemented by both the Central government and the Assam state government.

According to information from senior BJP officials, prominent party leaders are anticipated to be involved in various segments of the yatra. Among these leaders are BJP state president Nitin Nabin, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, along with other notable figures from both the national and state party hierarchy.

Engagement Activities Planned During the Yatra

The yatra will feature a series of public meetings, roadshows, and community interactions aimed at educating the populace about significant accomplishments in areas such as infrastructure development, welfare initiatives, economic progress, and governance reforms. Additionally, party representatives will collect public opinions and share future priorities regarding development projects.

Goals of the Jan Ashirwad Yatra

The BJP leadership is optimistic that the Jan Ashirwad Yatra will provide a critical platform for direct engagement with citizens, aimed at reinforcing trust and creating momentum in the lead-up to the Assembly elections. This measure reflects the party’s commitment to connecting with constituents at a grassroots level.

Amit Shah’s Remarks on Development in Assam

In a related event on Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah recognized the achievements of the BJP-led government in Assam, asserting that the progress made by the party in a decade surpasses that of the Congress party over fifty years. Speaking at a public gathering in Silchar, he emphasized the government’s success in infrastructure, pointing out that in the past five years, Assam has seen an average of 14 kilometers of road built daily, the completion of numerous bridges, and the inauguration of four major new bridges.

Comparative Analysis of Government Performance

Shah remarked that while Congress had dominated Assam’s political landscape for decades, it did little to advance the state’s development. He stated, “What Congress could not achieve in fifty years, we managed in ten years. Over the last five years, we have constructed roads daily, created hundreds of bridges, and inaugurated significant projects.” He also mentioned that under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the BJP has dedicated itself to curbing infiltration and reclaiming land, pointing out efforts to enhance infrastructure and services in the state.
