The Congress has taken a big decision as part of the preparations for Bihar assembly elections. The party is sending observers all over Bihar, who will go to each district and fulfill two important responsibilities.
The first is to help the public in the voter list revision and the second is to assess the ground status regarding the assembly elections. Under the Congress plan, party workers and supervisors from all over the country have been sent to Bihar.
All these will go to Observer districts and meet people, understand the problems like adding, improving or removing the voter list and if needed, they will contact the local authorities and try to solve the solution.
An additional responsibility to observers
These observers were given a special meeting and training at Sadakat Ashram in Patna, where they were informed about the entire process and the responsibilities were clarified. Apart from this, the Congress has also entrusted an additional responsibility to these observers.
They have been asked to assess the electoral activities of the Congress in their respective districts, the position of the party at the local level, the possibilities of the candidates and the strength of the organization and hand over the feedback to the high command. The party believes that this step will not only provide relief to the people about the voter list, but also organizationally, the Congress will get strengthened on the electoral land.
“Halla Bol” on SIR agenda
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will start his election campaign in Bihar by offering prayers with the famous Tarachandi Shaktipeeth of Sasaram from 14 August. The yatra will run till August 30 and will cover about 90% of the districts. Rahul’s ‘Halla Bol’ campaign is also a strategy to question the policies of NDA and the neutrality of the Election Commission, as well as a strategy to make inroads in the Hindu vote bank.
Rahul Gandhi’s main focus will be on SIR – Constitution, Infrastructure, Employment. The Congress alleges that the NDA government has pushed Bihar back on these three fronts. Especially they will tell the public facts by calling special voter revision (SIR) a conspiracy against the opposition.
