Bihar Fake ‘Pregnancy Job’ Scam: Men Lured With ₹10 Lakh Promise to Impregnate Women

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a shocking case from Bihar, police have uncovered a cyber fraud racket that allegedly lured men with false promises of hefty payments in exchange for impregnating childless women. The scam was operating in Nawada district under the misleading name “All India Pregnant Job Service.” Two accused, including a minor, have been arrested in connection with the case.

According to police officials, the racket targeted unsuspecting men by offering them up to Rs 10 lakh as compensation. The accused claimed the job involved impregnating women who were unable to conceive, presenting it as a paid “service.”

How the Fraud Operated

Investigators revealed that the gang circulated advertisements on social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp. These ads promised easy money, free sex, and guaranteed payouts. Even failure to impregnate the women, the victims were told, would still fetch them half the promised amount.

To make the offer appear legitimate, the accused shared photographs of female models and used enticing phrases like “Playboy Service” and “Baby Birth Service.” Interested individuals were then asked to pay a registration fee and additional charges under the guise of hotel bookings and documentation.

Registration Fees Turn Into Extortion

Once payments began, the demands did not stop. Victims were repeatedly asked to transfer money for various reasons, including medical tests, accommodation, and verification charges. By the time they realized the scheme was fraudulent, many had already lost significant amounts of money.

Police said fear of social embarrassment prevented several victims from reporting the crime, allowing the racket to continue unchecked for months.

Arrests and Legal Action

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Nawada Cyber Police arrested Ranjan Kumar, a local resident, while a minor was also taken into custody. Four mobile phones used to carry out the fraud were recovered.

Superintendent of Police Abhinav Dhiman confirmed that the accused have confessed. A case has been registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including cheating, theft, and forgery, along with relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act.

Not the First Such Case

This is not an isolated incident. Police noted that a similar scam was busted in the same district in January last year, where three individuals were arrested for running a nearly identical operation under a different name. Despite earlier arrests, the lure of quick money and anonymity online has allowed such frauds to resurface.

Police Warn Public Against Online Lures

Cyber police officials have urged people to remain cautious of unrealistic job offers and financial schemes on social media. Deputy Superintendent of Police Nishu Mallik appealed to the public to immediately report suspicious online activities, stressing that silence only empowers fraudsters.
