The presentation took place on October 5, 2026, at the ‘Sankalp’ hall within Lok Sevak Awas in Patna. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary received the cheque and expressed his appreciation for the Corporation’s support, highlighting that the funds will help provide necessary assistance during disasters across the state.

Attending the event were several dignitaries, including Building Construction Minister Leshi Singh, Secretary of the Building Construction Department Pranav Kumar, and Managing Director of the Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited, Anil Kumar. The presence of these officials underscores the collaboration between different arms of the state government to address the flood situation.

Relief Operations in Flood-Affected Areas

In a related initiative, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has instructed the Disaster Management Department to ensure timely distribution of relief materials to areas in Saran district impacted by flooding. This directive includes the implementation of special air-dropping operations in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defence. The goal is to reach areas that are otherwise inaccessible due to severe weather conditions.

As reported by the Chief Minister’s Office, more than 28 tonnes of food supplies, totalling over 5,600 dry ration packets, have been successfully air-dropped in affected regions of Saran. This operation was conducted through 15 sorties by Indian Air Force helicopters, facilitated under the directions of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. The initiative is part of a larger effort to ensure that essential food supplies reach citizens in need.

The air-dropping strategy aims to assist those impacted by flooding, particularly in places where road access has been hindered. The Disaster Management Department, in collaboration with local authorities, continues to monitor the situation effectively. Efforts are being made to utilise alternative transportation methods alongside traditional road routes to guarantee that relief supplies reach every affected household as swiftly as possible.

Role of the Indian Air Force in Relief Operations

Pilots and personnel from various units of the Indian Air Force are playing a vital role in these relief efforts. The air-drops are being conducted under the leadership of Group Captain Anuj Gupta and Wing Commander Vishal Khatri from Gorakhpur, alongside Squadron Leader Rohit Dadarwal and Flight Lieutenant Kunal Kalamkar from Bagdogra, as well as Flight Lieutenant Rathore Bharat Singh also from Bagdogra.

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has extended special thanks to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Defence, and the Indian Air Force for their crucial assistance in delivering relief supplies to the flood-affected regions of Bihar. He noted the effective coordination between the Central and State governments in carrying out relief and rescue operations amid these challenging conditions.

This collaborative approach aims to enhance the efficiency of relief operations, ensuring that the needs of those impacted by the floods are met promptly. Local administration and disaster response teams are committed to reaching out to affected families to provide essential services and supplies during this difficult time.
