A five-year-old boy in Bengaluru’s Thyagarajanagar area was left injured after a neighbour allegedly kicked him while he was playing near his grandmother’s home. The unsettling incident, which occurred on December 14, was captured on CCTV, revealing the boy being struck from behind and falling to the ground.

The child, identified as Neev Jain, suffered injuries on his forehead and limbs. Speaking to the media, his mother, Deepika, described the attack: “He ran up and kicked my child with his leg. He is just five years old. The man kicked him forcefully and assaulted him. We called the police and they arrested him. Later, we checked the CCTV footage. After watching it, we realised he had assaulted other children too.” She added that the man, reportedly a gym trainer, has allegedly been targeting other children in the area over several days.

Bengaluru police confirmed that the man, identified as Ranjan, has been arrested. DCP North stated that he has been granted bail and permission by the court to receive treatment for a mental health condition and is currently undergoing care in Madurai. “It was a non-cognizable offence. We registered the case after following due procedure,” the DCP said. Investigators have found additional videos showing the accused allegedly assaulting girls, and authorities warned that more complaints could lead to further cases.
