Bengaluru Content Creator Documents Day at Panipuri Stall, Reveals Vendor Earnings

The CSR Journal Magazine

A content creator from Bengaluru has gained significant attention online after sharing a video of his day spent working at a local panipuri stall. Cassy Pereira aimed to explore the financial aspects of street food vending by comparing the vendor’s income to that of a commerce graduate. To gain a comprehensive understanding, he engaged in various preparation tasks, including chopping onions, peeling potatoes, and creating the flavorful spiced filling essential for panipuri.

Serving Customers

Once familiar with the preparation process, Pereira began serving customers at the stall. He mentioned feeling nervous initially, but quickly adapted to the fast-paced environment as customer numbers increased. He noted that around 120 panipuris were sold within just one hour. The vendor operates the stall from 4 PM to 10 PM, experiencing a steady flow of customers throughout the evening hours. During his shift, Pereira encountered several of his followers, who recognized him at the location.

Daily Earnings Analysis

In his analysis of the vendor’s earnings, Pereira shared that a single plate of panipuri is priced at Rs 30. He estimated that approximately 80 to 100 plates are sold daily. This calculation suggests that the vendor’s daily earnings could reach around Rs 3,000. By extrapolating these figures, Pereira indicated that this amounts to roughly Rs 90,000 over the course of a month, translating to an annual total of about Rs 10.8 lakh. These income estimates offered insight into the potential profitability of operating a street food stall in Bengaluru.

Social Media Reaction

The video has captured substantial interest across social media platforms, sparking discussions regarding the vendor’s earnings and how they compare to traditional career paths. Pereira’s project has prompted viewers to consider alternate professions, appreciating the effort that goes into the work of street food vendors. The attention reflects a growing curiosity around the financial viability of such occupations, inviting conversations on entrepreneurial opportunities within the informal sector.
