Baloch Liberation Army: ‘Ceasefire’ from Pakistan is Pure Deception

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a separatist group active in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, has claimed responsibility for a large-scale offensive involving 71 coordinated attacks across more than 51 locations. The group, in a series of statements, sharply criticised Pakistan’s calls for peace and ceasefire, labelling them as mere deception and a temporary tactic to mislead both India and the international community.

According to BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, the attacks targeted a wide range of sites, including Pakistani military and intelligence facilities, local police stations, mineral transport vehicles, and infrastructure along major highways. The spokesperson clarified that the aim was not only to inflict damage but also to test the BLA’s military coordination, ground control, and defensive positions, thereby strengthening its readiness for future organised warfare.

Message to India

The BLA’s offensive comes at a time of heightened tensions in the region, with the group openly addressing India and urging it not to be misled by Pakistan’s diplomatic overtures. The BLA spokesperson asserted, “Every talk of peace, ceasefire and brotherhood from Pakistan is merely a deception, a war tactic and a temporary ruse.” The group accused Islamabad of masking its war agenda behind the façade of peace, warning that Pakistan’s promises are “soaked in blood” and should not be trusted.

In its press release, the BLA made a direct appeal to India, stating that if India decided to take decisive action against Pakistan, the BLA and the Baloch nation would support such a move from the western border. The group declared its readiness to act as a “practical and military arm” against Pakistan, expressing willingness to surround the country from both eastern and western fronts.

The BLA also rejected allegations of being a foreign proxy, insisting that the Baloch resistance is an indigenous movement rooted in long-standing grievances over political marginalisation, economic exploitation, and military repression by the Pakistani state. The group described itself as a “dynamic and decisive party” in the region’s future, asserting its rightful place in the military, political, and strategic landscape of South Asia.

Accusing Pakistan’s military and intelligence agencies, especially the ISI, of fostering terrorism, the BLA claimed that Pakistan has become a breeding ground for global terrorist groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, and ISIS. The group called for international support, particularly from India, to counter what it described as a “terrorist state” and to pave the way for a peaceful and independent Balochistan.

The BLA’s latest offensive marks one of the most significant escalations in the ongoing insurgency in Balochistan, a region long plagued by unrest and demands for autonomy. The group’s strong rhetoric and calls for regional action underscore the deepening crisis and the potential for further instability in South Asia if the underlying issues remain unaddressed.
