Originally set to premiere during the Independence Day weekend in 2026, the film will now be released in theatres on February 12, 2027, marking the Valentine’s Day weekend. This information was disclosed by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on social media, where he confirmed the new release timeline.

In his post on X, Adarsh stated, “KARTIK AARYAN: ‘NAAGZILLA’ RELEASE DATE LOCKED – VALENTINE’S DAY 2027. Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films’ upcoming film #Naagzilla, a creature comedy starring #KartikAaryan, is set to release on 12 Feb 2027.” This announcement, while notable, has yet to be officially confirmed by the film’s producers.

Film Overview and Production Details

Naagzilla is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and is described as a creature comedy inspired by Indian folklore. The film features Aaryan in the role of an icchadhari naag, or shapeshifting snake, named Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand. This casting represents a significant new direction in Aaryan’s career choices.

The production is a collaboration between Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films. With its roots in traditional folklore, the film aims to offer a unique blend of comedy and fantasy, reflecting India’s rich storytelling heritage. It has generated interest due to its original concept and the involvement of prominent filmmakers.

Previously, Naagzilla was set to debut on August 14, 2026, coinciding with the Independence Day celebrations in India. The strategic shift to February 2027 allows the film to tap into the romantic sentiment associated with Valentine’s Day, potentially increasing its appeal to audiences. Reports indicate that this change was communicated via a press note from the production team.

Kartik Aaryan’s Recent Projects

Kartik Aaryan’s most recent film appearance was in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, released in 2025 alongside Ananya Panday. Although the film had a moderate box office performance, Aaryan has continued to work on multiple upcoming projects. His dedication to diverse roles reflects his evolving career in Bollywood.

In addition to Naagzilla, Aaryan is reportedly collaborating with acclaimed directors Anurag Basu and Kabir Khan, further expanding his repertoire in the industry. These collaborations are anticipated to showcase his versatility and commitment to diverse cinematic narratives.
