Nancy Grewal, 45, was a notable social media influencer and singer recognized for her candid online presence and controversial viewpoints. She had an Instagram following of 14.4K and was also described as a Punjabi-origin YouTuber in local media. Born on January 19, Grewal completed her education in Sirsa before attending Satluj Public School.

Her academic journey continued at a college she referred to as a “national college” on Facebook. Originally from Ludhiana, she had lived in Calgary and Alberta before settling in the Windsor/LaSalle region, where she resided with her pet dog, Bazveer.

Grewal’s Online Presence and Commentary

Grewal attracted significant attention for her views on India-Canada diplomatic relations and her criticisms of Khalistani proponents. She vocalized her thoughts on various figures, including former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and specific religious leaders.

Recently, she shared videos addressing Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon, the chief of Radha Soami Satsang Beas, following a visit he made to Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia in Nabha jail.

Life and Career in Canada

In Canada, Grewal worked as a caregiver, often juggling two shifts with different companies. Her move to Canada occurred in 2018 after marrying a singer already residing in the country.

According to her mother, Shinderpal Kaur, Grewal aimed to establish a music career but faced challenges in entering the industry, leading her to host stage shows. Kaur mentioned that their relationship deteriorated following their marriage, leaving Grewal to navigate her life independently.

Police Investigation and Family Concerns

The family learned of her passing on March 4, when Grewal did not respond to calls. Relatives contacted her employer and local authorities for a welfare check. Kaur stated that upon reviewing CCTV footage, it became apparent that Grewal had been attacked.

It was reported that an individual who witnessed the assault alerted the police. Officers indicated that they were called to the 2400 block of Todd Lane at approximately 9:30 p.m. on March 3, 2026, where they found Grewal suffering from severe injuries.

Allegations of Threats and Family Statements

Grewal’s mother claimed that her daughter had received threats prior to her death, alleging that three individuals might be involved in the murder. She also mentioned that Grewal’s house had been set ablaze a few months earlier.

Kaur accused an elderly man linked to a local gurdwara in Windsor of being the primary suspect, asserting that one of the alleged assailants had previously conducted surveillance at Grewal’s residence while disguised. Kaur plans to travel to Canada on March 6 to perform her daughter’s final rites.

Tributes and Family’s Grief

Following the announcement of her death, Grewal’s sister, Alishaa M S Grewal, shared a poignant message on Instagram expressing her heartbreak at the loss. She described Nancy as her beloved sister, friend, and source of strength, emphasizing that she would live on in their hearts.
