A gruesome crime has shocked West Bengal’s Malda district. This comes after a woman was arrested for allegedly murdering her nephew by marriage. The woman hid the dismembered body of her nephew in a cement wall at her father’s residence. The victim, Saddam Nadab, a labour contractor, had been missing since May 18 after leaving home on his scooter.
Victim Was Living with Accused Aunt
According to reports, Saddam Nadab had been residing with his paternal aunt by marriage, Moumita Hasan Nadab, in Malda. The two reportedly worked together and were allegedly involved in a romantic relationship, according to police sources.
However, Saddam went missing on May 18, and his family lodged a police complaint. Following the investigation, police tracked Saddam’s remains at Moumita’s father’s home in the Tapan area of Dinajpur district. The body was cut into three pieces, and was discovered encased in cement under a staircase, wrapped in plastic.
Moumita Confesses to Crime
During police interrogation, Moumita confessed to the murder. She claimed she killed Saddam after he began blackmailing her with explicit photographs. She then dismembered the body and concealed the remains under concrete to hide the crime.
While the blackmail angle was cited by Moumita, police believe the murder may have stemmed from a financial dispute. Saddam, a labour contractor, was allegedly in possession of several lakh rupees. The Police believe this could have been a motive for the crime.
Ongoing Investigation and Additional Arrests Possible
Police have registered a murder case and are continuing the investigation. Moumita remains in custody, and her husband is also being questioned in connection with the case.
In a similar disturbing incident from West Bengal, a man was arrested last month in South 24 Parganas district. The arrest comes after he was seen walking through his village carrying the severed head of his sister-in-law. The accused was identified as Bimal Mondal, he allegedly attacked Nita Mondal during a dispute and beheaded her using a chopper. Bystanders captured the shocking act on video before alerting police.
