Vivo has confirmed that the Vivo V80 smartphone will be unveiled in India on October 6, 2026. This announcement follows the earlier release of the Vivo V70 and V70 Elite models in February this year. As part of its ongoing product line, the V80 aims to enhance user experience with several new features and improvements.

The unveiling will take place at 12 PM, with Vivo indicating that the device will be accessible through major e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart, as well as offline retail outlets. While anticipation builds for the reveal, the exact pricing details remain undisclosed by the company.

This upcoming model maintains Vivo’s collaboration with Zeiss for its camera technology, reflecting the brand’s continued investment in innovative photography capabilities for mobile devices.

Specifications and Features of the Vivo V80

The Vivo V80 is equipped with a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display, featuring a refresh rate of 144Hz. However, the manufacturer has noted that the full capabilities of the refresh rate are applicable only to select applications. The display supports a vast colour range of 1.07 billion hues, offering impressive brightness levels of up to 5,000 nits, making it suitable for varied lighting conditions.

In terms of photography, the smartphone includes a sophisticated Zeiss camera setup. The primary camera is a 50-megapixel model with a Sony LYTIA 700V sensor, equipped with optical image stabilisation (OIS). Additionally, the device features another 50-megapixel telephoto lens utilising a Sony IMX882 sensor, OIS, and 3x optical zoom capabilities, with the potential for 100x digital zoom. A wide-angle camera also complements the rear setup, enhancing photographic versatility.

For selfies, the Vivo V80 incorporates a 50-megapixel Group Selfie camera with a wide 92-degree field of view and autofocus capabilities. Notably, the smartphone also supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second, alongside various AI-driven imaging tools aimed at improving photography experiences. These features include Live Sticker Collage and AI Diwali Portrait 2.0, designed to enhance festive portraits.

Battery Life and Software Features

Powering the Vivo V80 is a substantial 7,200mAh battery, which Vivo has branded as the largest battery capacity within its V-series range to date. The battery’s performance is touted to facilitate up to 14 hours of uninterrupted navigation and approximately 39.5 hours of local video playback. Moreover, the device is equipped with 90W FlashCharge technology, capable of reaching a 50 per cent charge in just 30 minutes.

The smartphone will be the inaugural model in the V-series to feature Android 17-based OriginOS 7, indicating Vivo’s commitment to keeping their software current. The company has pledged to provide up to six years of security updates, ensuring users remain supported throughout the lifespan of the device.

Although Vivo has not formally announced the specific chipset for the V80, a recent listing on Geekbench suggests it may be powered by the Qualcomm QTI SM7750 chipset, commonly associated with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. This processor also features in the Vivo V70, indicating a continuity in Vivo’s hardware choices across the V-series.
