A brutal case of domestic violence has shaken Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district, where a 55-year-old man was viciously assaulted by his wife, son, and daughter-in-law following a dispute over property ownership. The horrifying attack took place late on the night of October 24 in the Majhola area.

The victim, Shankar Lal, told police that his son and daughter-in-law had been demanding that he transfer the family home into his son’s name. When he refused, they allegedly conspired with his wife to “teach him a lesson.”

“My son and his wife wanted me to put the house in his name,” he said. “They attacked me at night when I was sleeping. They hit me in the chest with a rock. Then my wife took a blade and stabbed me in my private parts.”

Blade Attack Leaves Man Critically Injured

According to Shankar Lal’s complaint, the trio attacked him around 11:30 PM while he was sleeping. They allegedly beat him with a rock before his wife dragged him into a separate room. There, she reportedly slashed his genitals with a blade, leaving him gravely injured and bleeding profusely.

The victim claimed that the attackers also took cash from his pocket before fleeing. His loud screams alerted neighbours, who rushed to the spot and immediately called the police. A police team arrived within minutes and took him to the district hospital, where he remains under treatment.

Police Register Case; Accused on the Run

City Superintendent of Police (SP) Kumar Ran Vijay Singh confirmed that a case has been registered against the wife, son, and daughter-in-law under charges of assault, theft, and attempt to murder. “An investigation is underway, and strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty,” Singh said.

Police officials said all three accused are absconding, and multiple teams have been deployed to trace their location. The gruesome attack has left residents of the locality stunned, reigniting concerns over the growing trend of family feuds turning violent in the region.

Victim Under Treatment, Probe Continues

Doctors treating Shankar Lal have confirmed that he sustained deep injuries to his private parts and chest. His condition is critical but stable. Police are recording witness statements and verifying the victim’s claims about property-related tensions that allegedly sparked the assault.
