UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Engages with Suzuki Motor and Minda Corporation Leaders in Tokyo

On February 25, during his official visit to Japan, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath engaged in high-level discussions with executives from Suzuki Motor Corporation and Minda Corporation. The meetings were aimed at exploring substantial investment prospects within the automobile sector of Uttar Pradesh. Adityanath convened a meeting with a delegation from Minda Corporation, which included Executive Director Aakash Minda and partners from their Japanese joint venture.

The Chief Minister also conferred with Toshihiro Suzuki, President and Representative Director of Suzuki Motor Corporation. Following these meetings, Adityanath announced on a social media platform that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to bolster the advanced auto component manufacturing landscape in Uttar Pradesh. He assured the Minda delegation of comprehensive support from the Uttar Pradesh government, which includes assistance in land allocation and infrastructural development. This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to fostering industrial growth and generating employment opportunities.

Discussions on Logistics and Medical Device Manufacturing

Adityanath’s agenda in Tokyo included interactions with Shigeki Tanabe, Senior Managing Executive Officer at Konoike Transport Co., Ltd., along with his team. The discussions revolved around expanding Konoike’s operational footprint in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in areas such as logistics parks, warehousing, and multimodal transport infrastructure. He further invited the company to explore potential ventures in medical device manufacturing, referencing the existing Dedicated Freight Corridor network and the Medical Devices Park in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority region, to enhance industrial cooperation between India and Japan.

Official Visit Aimed at Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Adityanath’s trip to Japan, which is scheduled from February 25 to February 26, encompasses various key meetings and dialogues intended to fortify bilateral cooperation and investigate new investment opportunities for Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of this trip in aligning with the state’s strategic growth objectives and expanding its industrial base.

Engagements with Mitsui & Co. for Infrastructure Development

Prior to his discussions with Suzuki and Minda, Adityanath met with representatives from Mitsui & Co. He engaged in an insightful meeting with Kazuki Shimizu, Managing Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the Infrastructure Projects Business Unit at Mitsui, along with senior team members. During this encounter, he encouraged Mitsui & Co. to assess transformational investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh, specifically focusing on sectors such as Renewable Energy, Information and Communication Technology, Semiconductors, and Data Centres. The discussions also included aspects of collaboration on infrastructure development, logistics networks, and industrial investments aimed at enhancing Uttar Pradesh’s growth corridors and integrating its presence in the global supply chain.

Throughout his discussions in Tokyo, Adityanath reiterated the Uttar Pradesh government’s unwavering commitment to industrial expansion, technology partnerships, and job creation.
